As a doula it’s not about me. I was sitting on the floor next to the birth pool listening. Listening and waiting.
Listening to the incredible sounds and progress they were making.
The midwife who joined us asked if I could hold the torch for her. (Lucky me!)
I stood up and there this beautiful baby’s face was!
So I was incredibly lucky to actually witness this baby joining us Earthside!
I watched as a surge grew the fluid was squeezed from the lungs and out the nose and mouth, then shortly after the baby makes their appearance 💛
They had asked me to take a few pics for them so I actually recorded their birth! A very, very special video 🌀

Do you practice on your birth ball?
We hold tension in different places throughout our body so taking time to notice each area, breathing and softening will be a huuuuge benefit on the day!
And don’t forget your pelvic floor!! Practice RELEASING these muscles on an out breath 🌊
How did you practice on your birth ball?

This is so important!
It is ALWAYS your choice!
Nearly all hospitals work under the ‘one size fits all’ way.
So most likely, for you, it may not be the case.
💫 That induction is probably not needed
💫 That caesarean birth is probably not needed
💫 That intervention is probably not needed.
As long as you know the pros and cons then it is totally your choice!
But just remember hospitals will give you information not necessary based on ACTUAL evidence!
So QUESTION EVERYTHING and don’t be afraid to say no!
Need some help gaining confidence and information?
My next course dates are ready to book and I’d love to have you there!

January Blues?
Slow down, you are doing better than you think 💛
Did you notice I keep my body soft and moving throughout too, movement and birth are best friends! (Watch again if you missed it!)
Save this and have a go at it, even just once a day to start in your pregnancy and by the end you will be a pro!
Also a surge or contraction won’t last much longer than this reel. So if you can do this 👆 you can definitely breathe your way through birth!
Want to learn more? My courses are running monthly and I'd love to see you there!

Ps. Although I have had my babies (8 and 6 now!)….breathing like this is something I am really trying to bring into my day more regularly. These techniques really are valuable for life!

How do you feel about birth?
If you could listen to this pregnancy affirmation every day, or even most days during your pregnancy, your mind and body will adjust.
Really hear the words, take them in, soften your shoulders.
Birth doesn’t have to be scary, but we have been programmed to think it is.
So, come back to this and listen to it often, know your options and trust yourself.
Much love, you got this!
